Journal of Educational, Health, and Community Psychology (JEHCP) published an article, and empirical study that have originality, novelty and fill the gap of knowledge, that focused on educational psychology, health psychology and community psychology. JEHCP is an open access peer reviewed, multidisciplinary journal that publishes quality studies related to psychology. JEHCP is interdisciplinary in approach, and includes to reports of qualitative case studies, quantitative experiments and surveys, mixed method studies, action researches, meta-analyses, and discussions of conceptual and methodological issues. The field of educational psychology includes the effectiveness of educational interventions, the psychology of teaching, and the social psychology of schools as organizations, motor skills and other psycho-physiological processes; cognitive development involving areas such as problem solving, language acquisition; social, personality, and emotional development; self-concept and identity formation. The field of Health Psychology includes the stress-related ilnesses, the health coping strategy, resiliency, work on health attitudes and behaviour, health locus of control, quality of life in chronic disease, influence of emotion on health and health-related behaviours, psychological interventions in health and disease as well as psychological aspects of prevention. The field of Community Psychology includes research, evaluation, assessment and intervention, and review articles that deal with human behavior in community settings. Articles of interest include descriptions and evaluations of service programs and projects, studies of youth, parenting, and family development, methodology and design for work in the community, the interaction of groups in the larger community, and criminals and corrections.

Abstract

 Abstract The article examines the phase of aggressive behavior, deprivation, among the inmates age group of Nigerian prison. However, the study elaborated the meaning of aggressive behavior; factors contributed to aggressive behavior, theory of aggressive behavior, literature review, method of information collection and data analysis. Therefore, prison setting can instigate aggressive behaviors, especially in Nigeria, where inmates are deprived of their particular right and are treated brutality in some instances studies shows, that Nigerian prisons are not adequately organized and made do as such, inmates are exposed to all kinds of atrocity. It should be noted that a condition of privation and lack of societal well-being especially among people being in an isolated environment as in the case with most prisons in Nigeria can degenerate to frustration and aggression which in turn can result in dangerous situations such as riots/ violence in the prisons. Aggression can lead to violence that may be adaptive under certain conditions regarding natural selection. That is most obviously the case regarding attacking prey to obtain food, or in anti-predator defense. The results showed that there is significant difference between the levels of aggressiveness with respect to the classes of age groups. Abstract

AbstractThis research aims  to find out the effectiveness of implementation performance appraisal toward job satisfaction of employees UMKM Bordir Dahlia in Kabupaten Kudus. Sampling was done by using population studies to 16 employees of UMKM embroidery Dahlia Kudus. The type of this research is quantitative with pra experiment approached by One group pre and posttest design method. Data analysis on this research using non parametric with different test techniques Wilcoxon t-tes. The analysis result of different test scale job satisfaction before and after handling obtained  Z = - 1,268, with p = 0,205 (p>0,05), so that there is no differences on job satisfaction on employees of embroidery Dahlia before and after treatment by giving performance appraisal. It means treatment by giving performance appraisal unable to increase employees job satisfaction. Therefore, the hypothesis on this research is rejected.Keywords : performance appraisal, Job satisfaction

Abstract

Abstract Diabetes Mellitus type 2 (DM 2) is a type of chronic disease that is essentially incurable. The only possible effort for health maintenance is self-management to keep blood glucose levels normal. Although adherence to medication arrangements is important for patients, their tendency to comply is relatively low. Having seen this problem, there is a need for a psychological intervention that is focused on the growth of acceptance, strengthens commitment for a change, and facilitates behavioral change. The “Pasien PANDAI” (Patients with Acceptance and Action) Program was designed integratively to accommodate the stated three focuses. A Quasi-Experiment with The One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design was defined as the study design. The subjects of the experiment were five members Persadia (Diabetes Association of Indonesia), Yogyakarta branch. Data Analysis was done with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and descriptive analysis. Research results indicate that “Pasien PANDAI” Program cannot increase adherence to medication in DM 2 patients (Z = -1,826 ; p > 0,05) with constant results up until follow-up (Z = -0,535 ; p > 0,05). However, descriptive analysis shows that DM 2 still feels certain benefits from the program. Keywords: Program pasien pandai, acceptance, commitment, action, diabetes mellitus, chronic  disease, adherence to treatment.

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of the current  literature review is to focus on individuals´ self-concept. The results of the present study reveal that self-concept assumed as an important factor for each and can change his or her belief, attitude, and reaction toward personal and social life. This study likewise  explained the beginning of self-concept, different views toward this vital factor, the role of introspection, and multicultural. Abstract

Abstract The enhancement of teacher’s quality is crucial, and it remains a challenge in Indonesia. As an effort to achieve a better education quality, a comprehensive reformation of the education system has to be done, especially regarding the aspect of teacher’s quality. The cultural uniqueness may impact the different values of competent teachers, make it typical to define a competence teacher from one place to another. Up to the present, there have been wide variations of the instruments used to measure teacher competence, but most are developed with regards to the western culture. Therefore, the aim of this study was to develop a culturally-sensitive instrument to assess teacher competence based on the situation of the targeted country where the teacher resides. High schools students in Jakarta and greater area participated in this study. Validity and reliability testing were performed to confirm the psychometric property of Teacher Competence Questionnaire (TCQ). It is concluded that TCQ is a valid and reliable instrument to measure teacher competence.
